Rameshwaram to Madurai –168 km. via NH- 87
After accomplishing the Big Feat our darling and daring women were in no mood to back down… They were in a mood to celebrate, rejoice and make merry, and vroooooom .. they drove down to their final port, to the city that never sleeps, the City of Temples- Madurai!
…and the city of rainbow- coloured Gopurams rejoiced along, on their victory lap.
Cherishing each moment of their final stretch on the Indian Highway….
They captured some memorable shots while driving around the city!
But soon, it was time to bid adieu to their best friend, the lady in white- their carrier, compatriot, and store- house of all their dreams, gossips, secrets and prayers – the Ertiga!
A happy- sad moment…but our ladies knew exactly what would cheer them up! A cuppa South- Indian caffee and some shopping on the city streets awaited them, followed by a mandatory visit to the Meenakshi Amman Temple…
The musical pillars at the temple in a dilapidated state, all caged up to preserve what remains, and the scaffolding were all up and set near one of the Gopurams.
However, the ladies immersed themselves in the alluring colours and sounds of Meenakshi Amman temple with a prayer in their heart and a wind beneath their wings… they prepared to go back home.
