On Day I- the trio embarked on their journey precisely at 8:30 a.m from New Delhi and made their first stop- over at Ferozabad at 11:45 a.m. A stretch of 234.8km covered by our ace driver- Monicka in just 195 mins. via Taj Express with no halts and no hassles.
However, the minute they reached the Hotel (Monark, Firozabad), they witnessed the very first “flat- tyre” of the journey :O.
The humble small- town fellow at the reception handed them the key to the room which was pre- booked. They inquired about the car parking and for a mechanic.
The fellow ‘s response: “Driver park kar lega” (Your driver will park it).
Pop! came their reply: “Hum hi driver hain!”
(We are only the drivers!)…
Home- made parathas, karela and pudina chutney made for a sumptuous brunch for the day followed by an afternoon nap. In the evening they took a rickshaw ride to the local bazaar famous for its bangle shops.
A lil known fact: the town is a hub for glass industries and bangle wholesalers, aptly named: “the City of Bangles“.
Walking down the bazaar lane, looking at those gleaming glass bangles how could they resist.. So on their Day I the ladies did some fab choori shopping and of course they made a good bargain. For 12 dozen glass bangles, they just paid Rs. 100!
Tip: For all Northies; Dilli and U.P vaalas, you know which road to take for a wedding in the family 🙂
